Instructions
Simmer orange juice, ginger, and cinnamon together on medium heat for 20 minutes, reducing volume to about half. Strain this sauce, discarding all but the liquid. While sauce is reducing, cut figs in half lengthwise from stem to stem. Drizzle sauce over figs. If desired, sauce can be chilled before serving with figs. Makes 4 servings.
Cooking Tip
You want the sauce to be the consistency of light syrup when done. Check the taste as it reduces: if it does not reduce long enough it will taste weak and flat, and it won't coat the figs. The sauce also thickens as it cools.
